Inventory Management

Inventory Management

Inventory management refers to the process of ordering materials, handling shipments from suppliers and unpacking the shipment order. Raw materials, products, and finished goods, as well as their storage and processing, are all included in this activity.

Creating Materials

Create a new material in the system or choose an existing one.

Ordering Materials

Order an external material unit from a supplier.

Shipping Materials

Receive an incoming shipment from a supplier. You can receive several materials in one shipment.

Storing Materials

Store the material units in the system.

 

Materials

 

Simplab
  • Go to Simplab Home Page.

  • Click on the Materials tab.

  • You can create a new material.

  • You can also choose a material from the list.

  • Filter the materials that will be presented in the list view.

Creating a New Material

Fill in the fields that are required for the material (e.g. Material Name, GMP/Non GMP,Amount in Package, etc.). 

*These fields can be updated per request.

Orders

Now let’s create a material order.

  • Go to Simplab Home Page.

  • a. Click on the Orders tab.

    b. Click on the External Order button.

    c. Choose the supplier which will be responsible for the shipment. Fill in the required fields and choose the relevant material and the quantity that you want to order.

Shipment

To receive the material order from the supplier we need to go to the shipment object.

 

To log an incoming material from the supplier we need to use the shipment object.

  • Go to Simplab Home Page.

  • a. Click on the Shipment tab.

    b. Click on the Incoming Material button.

    c. Choose the supplier which was responsible for the shipment. Fill in the required fields and choose the relevant material and the quantity that you received from this shipment.

Material Units

Material unit is the smallest unit we’re tracking in the system.

When receiving the shipment we should unpack the containers and create a material unit record for each package.

The material units will be created as batch. In cases where the shipment contains more than one batch, we can split the incoming material into  two different batches (the two batches may have an individual lot number or/and expiry date).

Storage (optional)
